Greetings www.seasteading.org forum users:

We are going to temporarily shutdown the forums beginning on Friday, Dec 23. We hope to have the forums live again by the second week of January, 2012. This temporary halt is due to our website upgrade and migration.

December Meetup with Talk on Practical Aquaculture

Join us for an evening of exciting talks, brainstorming and socializing with some of the most interesting people in the seasteading movement. This time we continue with practical topics, and Mike Doty will present a talk on Aquaculture for Seasteads. He will cover the possibilities for the industry in general, and look specifically at salmon as a species to be farmed (sales, feed conversion, growth rate, etc).

Suborbital Space Endeavor Finds a Solution at Sea

National Geographic documentary featuring The Seasteading Institute

Last week, National Geographic invited The Seasteading Institute to Galveston, Texas to shoot a documentary aboard a dry-docked oil rig. It will be a segment in a six-part series on the oceans. Director of Engineering George Petrie and Board of Engineering Advisor Greg Castleman spoke about how an oil rig could be refurbished as a residential and business seastead, and Senior Director Randy Hencken and I talked about the need to provide a new frontier for governments and a new space for innovation.

News 1

The seasteading movement is producing some novel ideas for ocean-based businesses that could act as stepping stones towards their ultimate goal.

Support the Crazy Ones, Change the World!
