William Otey is a graduate of the University of New Mexico having received a bachelor’s degree paid for by working as a deckhand on fishing boats in Alaska. After a great deal of disillusionment with his activities in the Libertarian Party and trying to “change people’s minds” about their political philosophy, he began seriously contemplating the creation of entirely new nations. He realized that this would allow human beings to have any form of government that they desire and experimentation with various political systems could flourish allowing for an evolution. After a great deal of research and writing, he gave several presentations at the Karl Hess Club in Los Angeles (a Classical Liberal dinner club) and continued slowly producing material that would ultimately become The Micronation Revolution. He discovered the Seasteading Institute and was highly influenced by their research and thinking. He is now hard at work on a second book. This new manuscript closely examines the dramatic ethical decline of the American political system. The book is entitled Unmasking the Wizard. He developed many products and is currently awaiting a decision by the U.S. patent office on two utility patent designs pending.
