Gabriel is originally from Washington DC where, as a child, he observed his father pioneer the Satellite Communications and Biotechnology industries as well as the LGBT movement. He holds a Bachelors in Political Science from the University of Vermont, and a Masters in Social Innovation & Sustainability.
In 2014, he was a Democratic Nominee for US Congress from the 8th District of Florida, the "Space Coast", campaigning for NewSpace policies favoring commercial space activities and settlement. He is currently a Director of the National Space Society and Humanity+ as well as an Advocate and ex-Director of the Space Frontier Foundation.
Gabriel is also the Swami of the Terasem Movement Transreligion, a religious organization dedicated to unity, diversity and joyful immortality. Formerly using the title pastor, 'Swami G' was adopted as an alias during a mission trip to the 2018 version of Black Rock City: I, Robot. In 2019, Swami G joined the Black Rock Rangers, his call sign: Seastead.
Gabriel is passionate that the answers to our most perplexing problems will be found at sea, and that the resources of the Space Coast are the most fertile ground to launch seasteading from.
“From sustainable technologies to innovative political systems seasteading represents a hands-on approach to our future.”
