According to their website:

“Last year more than three hundred top academics, industry leaders, authors, government officials, designers, journalists, and global innovators descended on the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley for the first annual Ideas Economy: Innovation, the launch event of The Economist’s Ideas Economy series. In two jam-packed days, 63 of the world’s leading thinkers participated in this multi-part, multimedia forum designed to fuse creativity with action. This year’s event will build on last year’s success.

With barriers to entry in many industries have [sic] disintegrated, innovation is increasingly shifting to the developing world. Companies must now function in a climate of constant disruption. Participants at this event will examine how the very meaning of innovation is changing, and why it matters today more than ever.”
