I think if were able to build micronations at sea at some point in the future it would be a shame to see old ideas and systems running them. We have a chance to create not just a new type of city or new type of government but a new world. I dunno why people are even talking about creating new forms of government. I personally don’t think human beings need any form of government to rule over them but that’s just my opinion.
I guess were all inventors in a way since were trying to create a new design for a autonomous seastead that can work at sea. I think this conversation is great and needs to be talked about because to even have a shipstead or a metropolistead it will need to be a business and all businesses need protection against theft. On the other hand wouldn’t a seastead be out of the reach of patent enforcement? I mean if someone is gonna copy your patented idea to make money and go out in the ocean who’s gonna go after them and shut them down?
If they rule against floating homes being houses won’t this set a legal precedent and be really difficult to change in the future? If they rule against seasteading then all floating homes will have to be mobile right? The out of sight out of mind idea for floating homes makes sense to me until cities are ready to accept floating homes as houses.
Cool! If you need an extra pair of hands when it comes time to start building Id be happy to help you. I have a few project ideas myself and I think the only way we can make any seastead project come to life is by helping each other.
I agree that it would be a lot easier if we just transported serious patients back to land but that’s assuming we have rescue groups on stand by. Im sure that the ones in place now might not be able to respond as quickly as we might like. Also your seastead could be extremely far from land if it moved alot. So maybe setting up some kind of emergency fast rescue transport for seastead residents might be the answer.
