Collaborative design of conceptual seasteads in Second Life

Syndicate replies to “Collaborative design of conceptual seasteads in Second Life” topic

I have dedicated a 8096 square meters area in Second Life to the design of conceptual seasteads, for anyone interested. The only thing required is a Second Life account (free reg and a 100 MB download). Once in just search for the "Seastead design" group and join it, so you can build permanently in the area, which is in the South East corner of the region Everlite.

The interest is that Second Life makes building 3D models quite easy and allows real time collaboration on the same design, along with text and voice chat and instant messaging. It's nice for quickly getting a preview of a real scale design, that can be visited interactively, or just getting a feel of what it might be like to live there.

At the moment there are a very simple lite spar design and a bigger V-shaped seastead scaled after the existing measurement plans from the old book (it has no safety hull though). A free set of texures is on the stone pier.

Good Idea

This is a really good idea. Could I ask you to put something into the wiki that will get people over to the correct location in 2nd life?

Will do right now.
