Did David know about seasteading when he wrote Hidden Order? On page 203 he states that "There are a certain number of square miles on the surfaceof the earth; the number has not changed significantly in the past hundred thousand years, and, short of some massive redesign of the planet, will not change significantly in the next hundred thousand".
Is he ready to eat his words or does he not think seasteading is viable?
Hidden Order was written
Hidden Order was written pre-seasteading. My dad thinks seasteading is a neat idea, although he is (as anyone would be) somewhat skeptical about whether it can get funded / be profitable / actually happen.
