    I’m scheduled to leave the ice next week (weather permitting) and plan to do some traveling on the way home. I’ll definitely be going through New Zealand, probably Australia and parts of southern Asia (thinking Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal or Bhutan, maybe others), South America (Paraguay fascinates me because of the Jesuit War and the War of the Triple Alliance, and Guyana looks interesting and they speak English), and maybe even a couple stops in North America (I keep running into folks from Montreal, and I’m thinking I should finally check it out).

    Any other suggestions or recommendations? I’d love to meet any Seasteaders along the way.

    If you scuba dive, Belize would be good.

    Maybe Rio, before it changes for the Olympics?

    I’ve been just about everywhere (except Antarctica, darn it), 90+ countries, lived overseas for more than 6 months at a shot in a half-dozen, and there’s no place like home….

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    I won’t be wronged. I won’t be insulted. I won’t be laid a-hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.

    Beautiful historic city, great downtown, Fort Sumter, and of course US! Boat’s here until February, then we head south.

    Yeah, but that’s to do AFTER I get home – which is in the Carolinas. (Charlotte area, so which Carolina depends on my mood.)

    IF I’m back by February.

    November – Sydney and Perth, Australia, with maybe a side trip to Indonesia.

    December – Singapore and Thailand, with hopefully side trips to Cambodia and Nepal.

    January – Helsinki and Istanbul, side trips to nearby areas (maybe Baltics and Ukraine?).

    February – Madrid and Buenes Aires – hopefully with side trips, in the latter case to Uruguay and Paraguay?

    March – Lima, Peru and Montreal, Quebec. Short trips. Back to the Carolinas.

    Dates are rough, but if you’ll be in or near one of these places when I’ll be there, let me know.

    I have no idea what I’ll be doing in a year but Hit me up (pm here goes to email) if you’re coming to SAmerica, I’d recommend going from B.A. (or MVD) to Peru via Paraguay or Bolivia. The eastern region of Bolivia is Paraguayan, or Guarani, culturally and demographically, and North of Moxos (where Cocoa comes from) the Amazon jungle begins. It’s even safe.

    cheers!

    I finished my trip over a year ago – but I did like South America, so maybe I’ll come back. I know I like your recommendations because I’ve already been those places, except Bolivia.
