| admiral-doty | to Oceanopolis, Starting new threads would help focus on specific plans suggested by you and added to by me, regarding starting with houseboats, establishing a site for concrete construction for Wil and others, and developing deep water aquaculture. Also, I don’t want to hijack Pastor Jason’s thread by taking it in a different direction from the plan he has proposed. to Ken, Is it possible to set up a new category for this project so we can have multiple threads grouped under it? to Chucker, can you come up with a budget to determine what you would need to stay in Belize as a representative? what does “Note to self level wife first. |

Okay, this time I think we are actually talking about a new forum. To make a new open forum isn’t a big deal. (It’s closed forums that are a PITA for a number of reasons.) I would need to get TSI approval of course, but then I can do all of the necessary setup. It would need to be more general than just SOBIZ, but could be intended specifically for non-TSI actual seasteading projects. Two questions: 1. How many people would this actually benefit? Those people who strictly use the “New posts” function won’t benefit at all. 2. If the group consensus is that it would be of benefit, what should the name be? It needs to include the concepts of “User (non-TSI) Actual Seasteading Projects” but there’s probably a better/catchier way of phrasing it. Ken |

| OCEANOPOLIS | “Seasteading projects” or “Actual seasteading projects” or “Ongoing (current?) seasteading projects” I think it will benefit everybody, including TSI. Members who work on actual projects can post their projects there. The new members and/or the guests can visit the forum and get an idea of what is going on, what has been achieved so far and what is actually done towards seasteading by the members themselves. Thus more people can choose to join TSI in order to be part of a certain project, the one that fit their needs best. I think it will encourage participation, innovation, and therefore growth and advancement of the seasteading cause. And, if TSI would bring some of those grants back for those projects that they consider to be most likely to succeed due to best concept, planning, participation, etc, the better. I am talking about actual projects, privately financed by the participating members and under developmpent as potential grants beneficiaries. My 2 cents,… |

| ellmer | Seasteading Outpost Belize thread is probably victim of its success, to many themes have been discussed here – I would suggest to have a follow up on the important themes and then split those important themes into seperate threads. Each thread should start with a short “thread theme statement” contributed by the thread creator, no chat off thread should be tolerated if somebody wants to sidetrack – it should always be with a more about this theme note and a relevant link – If we do not create a culture of stick to the thread theme – nobody will know in the end what has been discussed when and where – and what are the conclusions the discussion lead to. Pastor, you are the one who followed Seasteading Outpost Belize most – so what are the most important themes discussed and conclusions drawn – according to your point of view ? Wil |

| Pastor_Jason | Tradeshow last week completely wiped me out. Good for business, hard on my time. I’ve got a visit to an Intentional Community not too far from me set up for next week-end, I’d like to get that under my belt as we’re planning to talk about the ideal design for a start-up IC with our goals. Might post something before then. I see Wil started another thread focused just on the property location. That’s good. Patience is a virtue. Anything worth doing is worth doing right the first time. Unless I’m mistaken, no one is packed up and ready to move right now, so I’m using the time available to build the best foundation I can throw together on this. |

| OCEANOPOLIS | After almost 3 years, what’s another week? But you could be mistaken,…Elspru might be packed and ready to go. Somehow, I have a gut feeling about that. |

Yeah, but my gut tells me he’s been packed up and ready to go for the last three years… Many ideas have come and go over the years. Even Patri has moved on. This dream has staying power, it has remained worth my time to invest in it and I’m sure that one day it will come to be. Perhaps this iteration as an Intentional Community will be the trigger, maybe not. All we can do is work and eventually our efforts will bring about the dreams we hold on to. |
