Dear Seasteader,
Please mark your calendar for Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2 for The Seasteading Institute’s next international conference in San Francisco. More information about the conference will be released early next year.
The primary purpose of the event is to bring together and inspire people who have the capacity to launch, invest in, and/or support seasteading businesses. While the conference will discuss the long-term goals of seasteading, near-term actions will be the focus.
The two-day conference will be held at a four-star hotel in the Financial District. An exclusive benefactors’ dinner will take place on Thursday night before the conference. Programming will be during the day on Friday and Saturday. The event will conclude on Saturday night with a dinner cruise on a yacht in San Fransisco Bay.
Toward the high seas,
Michael Keenan
Posted this from my e-mail and did not see the announcement on the forums.
I have some questions on the setup.
Is there a cost for people who wish to bring their ideas? Will it be a lecture series or a setup with tables? Costs for attendees?
“bring together and inspire people who have the capacity to launch, invest in, and/or support seasteading businesses.”
Great, another shlep for money. No wonder the media don’t take seasteading seriously…

Seems like bringing together investors and people with the capacity to launch a seastead is the ideal atmosphere for a conference.
Better than a bunch of people with wild ideas and dreams just talking to each other dreaming about “some day”.
Or a bunch of investors wanting a product with nobody able to provide it.
Go to any conference. That is what they are all doing. People with products showing them off to potential customers/investors.
At tech conferences I go to, the first question asked of me is “what role do you play in purchasing new equipment?”

Second is “when”
This is how business run.
I’d love to go but its a pretty hard trip for me to make. It would be awesome if you could be apart of the conference live online and ask questions without going.
