Is it okay for me to post liberty related threads here that are not necessarily connected to seasteading? Or is there another category where I should post them… Everything here seems related to the project which I think is great… I just need to know if I can post liberty stuff that is less related.

Share them here if you like, if they are too utopic or if you think it suits better to dreaming/crazy ideas section you might as well share your thought there, or perhaps ‘law and politics’ could suit a thread related to liberty too.

Unfortunately no one from the TSI staff monitors the forums.
I’m a volunteer. My main role is as the primary spamfighter. My secondary role is as a website admin.
Unfortunately I’ve also ended up serving as moderator.
So I’m going to address your question from a couple of different angles.
As primary spamfighter …
First, I saw in the spamfilter logs that you were having some issues. I’ve whacked the spamfilter upside the head with a baseball bat, which should help.
Second, certainly anything related to seasteading is welcome. Depending on the exact nature it might be appropriate in Law and Politics, otherwise probably General Chat.
People who are active in the forums tend to use the “New posts” function anyway, which shows all threads in reverse chronological order of the latest post to the thread, regardless of which forum the threads are in.
Third, for liberty-related issues not related to seasteading at all, please keep those to a minimum for a couple of reasons:
1. TSI should not serve as a promotional platform for the Ridley Report.
2. People should not need to wade through a lot of non-seasteading-related threads (particularly in the “New posts” function) to find the seasteading threads.
For those that you do post, I think General Chat is the best place. (It shouldn’t go into Law and Politics forum unless it is Law and Politics related to seasteading.)
Fourth, the Ridley Reports link in your user account signature is fine.
As (reluctant) moderator …
I took a look at the front page of the Ridley Reports website. It looks like it tends to focus on controversial topics.
We’ve had a recent uproar here about controversial topics. (Please review the “Corruption in the Seasteading community” thread for more.) You’ll see in that thread that I’m going to request an official position once the appropriate TSI staff person is back in the office.
Please watch that thread for the official response.
In the meantime, unless it directly relates to seasteading in some way, I request that you not post controversial topics here.
Thanks.
