I am seeking several people who would like to give visibility to my new book: “Instead of Politics: Civilization 101″ in exchange for a share of profits. The book can be purchased directly at CreateSpace, viewed at Amazon, or read electronically on Kindle or Kindle for PC.

Although the book does not specifically explore seasteading options, it does provide a fundamental understanding of the legal and economic foundation for Aquia – a sea-based FreeNation of seasteads and sovereign vessels discussed elsewhere in this site.

Anyone may set up an associate account with Amazon or SmashWords without explicit permission from me, but if you are interested in negotiating other compensation options, send me a message.

I would also be willing to send a hard copy to anyone who can come up with a far-reaching marketing plan.

    Thanks Ken.

Here is the link to Amazon’s affiliate program for you or anyone who has access to a popular website or another way of positng links (such as blogads or other ads – if you are good with ads, and would like to go that route).

Their affiliate program gives you a cut based on category or volume of traffic directed to the book’s page through a link that is automatically generated for the purpose of tracking traffic. The link can be put anywhere, so you don’t need a website.

Unfortunately Amazon’s affiliate program is gradually going away.

Various state legislatures, in an effort to get more tax money, are declaring Amazon affiliates to constitute Amazon having a presence in the state. As a result, Amazon would have to charge sales tax to customers in that state and remit it to the state.

When this happens for a state, Amazon shuts down all of the affiliates in that state. A few days ago I heard from a friend that this has just happened with Illinois.

    This is true.

I was an affiliate myself several years ago in NC, and the program has been shut down here as well. But it is still available in most states, and can provide a simple way to make money promoting the book.

I am open to other promotional ideas and profit sharing plans.

Er, so seems like the book is just about “the problem”,

much like that constitution of Aquia…

    Solutions are much more useful.

Politics is about making policies in a polity.

    Please don’t reply to spam.

Especially please don’t reply to spam quoting the actual spam.

There is no need to flag new spam. I will see it and will deal with it (if some other forum moderator doesn’t beat me to it).

If you happen to run across old spam, please PM me with a link.

    Thanks.

Politics is the problem. Eliminate the problem, and the solutions present themselves.

It’s more analogous to a cancer than a legitimate organism..

Society operates much more smoothly wherever (and to whatever extent) politics (political immunities from the discipline of the market) are abolished.

Policies made through politics favor a majority at best, leaving the minority (but more often the majority outside of the political class) illegitimate. Transactions in the marketplace are unanimous. Voters cast their ballots (money) for the best products and services.

Furthermore, the political class requires coercion in order to operate, so it violates the very laws it supposedly seeks to enforce (laws against theft and murder)…

Well heres my half a cent…

i have heard over and over and over from various yip-yappers that we should just do away with politics altogether. its not a new concept. the problem as i see it is a mis understanding of what politics was supposed to be. its really all about leadership. while unfortunately many people associate politics with mis-leadership, we absolutely need leadership to ensure the growth, and thereby the survival of our race. the problem that led up to this problem is, much like Patri said before, we rely on a a very old and outdated system. what happens to your computer when you dont have antivirus updates (windows , not linux)? it becomes useless. well, ladies and gentlemen, my belief is that the system has been GAMED. now its time for a reboot.

maybe at some point in the not-too-distant future we can develop a computerized open source justice system that counts everybodies votes and helps prevent society from using impossible solutions that could never work.

implementing an anarchist state is NO solution. if you need a reminder that there is a neverending FIGHT between good and evil, take one hour and do some research that will shake you to the core… look up 3guys1hammer. the wikipedia page is inocuous, and should be all you need, but for those who are extremely daring… google.

Shredder has made my point. The system has been gamed – even in a Constitutional Republic that has been carefully designed to prevent such a thing. Other than the Medeival Icelanders, no one has yet been able to design a political-legal system capable of keeping the dragon in its cage. And the flaw with that system was its inclusion of politics. Politics is privilege. Power always corrupts.

Leadership? What’s that got to do with anything? Where will this pied piper lead us?

Anarchist State? Politicians say that they provide government. Not so. They obtain and grant immunities from accountibility. That is the type of environment in which bullies and thugs thrive. The market is the best government.

There are hundreds of thousands – perhaps millions – of charitable organizations that do not rely on the theft of taxation for support. When politicians run charity, they do it rather inefficiently – to say the least.

But more important, the ends do not justify the means.

I see you’re still preaching the gospel of Market Forces solving the problems of the world. Wonderful! I think I’ll just watch this time. How are things up in Asheville NC?

    Hey Wohl,

I prefer not to preach, but rather to convey knowledge and dispel myth. When one preaches, one is labeled as a proponent of an ism.

All that is necessary to cure society is to expose politics for what it is. If a slave knows he’s a slave, he will try to escape. The more, the better.

The politicians would like to divide and conquer their constituency, so when victims of politics point the finger at each other, the politicians have succeeded.

They will continue their thuggery as long as they have an ounce of credibility.

Market failure is a statist myth.
