    I am working on an idea to make a small boat extra stable.  The idea is to have a paravane (water kite) on each side, maybe 80 feet out, tied to the mast top.   For the mast to rock back and forth it has to pull extra hard on these paravanes.   So I think this will reduce the mast movement and so reduce the roll.

     

    I am also making by sailboat solar/electric powered.  This will mean cruising slowly, so stability is an issue.  See my blog at:
