It appears that most seastead ideas revolve around being able to sustain a person or family on its own, providing everything needed for survival and life.

If it were that easy, why would we not have these self sustaining “seasteads” already on land where you don’t have to take into account things such as tidal waves and a vast desert of saltwater?

Would a good place to start be creating one of these seasteads on a big open area on land and try to survive on what you would survive on in the ocean?

If you’re willing to go through the trouble of going out in middle of the ocean, why not start by going out in middle of nowhere first?

    Because someone owns the property?

At least in the United States, if it isn’t owned by someone else, it’s owned by the state government or federal government.

It might be different in other countries. I have no idea.

Homesteads are the same idea. It’s where the “stead” part comes from. One problem is that there are so many government regulations that homesteading is being wiped out, both as a way of life and as a functioning, profitable way of life. I’m trying to keep my 18 acres, but the gov’t makes it difficult and the banks do too.

I don’t think the idea is to build a completly autonomous seastead, anyway. Peolple would come and go to the nearest portuary city frequently.

So, what you say already exists… families who live far away from “the city” but go there once in a while.

Ya, I wasn’t talking about going on someone else’s land. You can buy a 1 acre lot in middle of nowhere for less than $3k.

Most of the ideas presented on here appear to assume that the seastead needs to have everything you need to survive. That’s a daunting task, even for a land-based setup.

ya the housing bubble hasn’t popped in Canada yet.

due to heavy subsidizing by the government it might never,

since the government garuntees that residential mortgages will be paid in full.

while people can still lose their homes, the government pays the banks.

so the lowest price for cold derelict properties is still rising.

just a few months ago they only cost $10,000 an acre on manitoulin,

now it’s about $35,000 per derelict acre.

you can check out openfarmtech which is doing a land-based forest-garden and fabrication-laboratory. http://openfarmtech.org

actually to just survive, as in have enough food for yourself and your family, is a relatively simple task, once you know how to forest-garden.

one of the main issue of the day is Agenda 21, which aims to round-up all country dwellers and concentrate them in big-cities,

afterwhich it’s quite possible there will be artificial famines and zombie-like cannibalism as part of depopulation agenda.

well at least that’s the current route the world government (UN) and Bilderberg seems to be planning.

Already with the brain-washing education-system which wastes childrens time on pointless paperwork.

While in a natural or tribal society they would be learning how to grow plants and produce products (tools, clothes).

So it’s quite possible that if the supermarket stopped stocking food,

people would resort to their cannibalistic backup programming, zombies.

which as you may note is being highly supported by the media.

On submarine seasteads with self-produced oxygen we would also be safe from the chemical attacks or chemtrails as you may know them.

While it is possible to also have an underground base someplace, as the plaeideans have promised to halt any pole-shifts

it’s quite likely you’d have to squat, as government round-up officials would attempt to root people out of official residences.

most likely under some bogus or false-flag pretenses.
