I’m really happy to have found this place. I’ll admit that while I’ve always had a passion for the oceans in general (I’m kind of a seanerd) I’ve only recently become focused on ways to enable humanity to break away from the mess we’re in.
You had me with your vision statement.
“At The Seasteading Institute, we work to enable seasteading communities – floating cities – which will allow the next generation of pioneers to peacefully test new ideas for government. The most successful can then inspire
change in governments around the world.”
This is beautiful. So often I’d be excited by a group only to discover that they only had one rigid vision of how they wanted the future to be. I’ve had almost no luck finding groups that are trying to give humanity a chance to experiment.
I’d been working on something different (roughly described at abiggishidea.com) that I think converges on the same place, though I was more focused on gobbling up people and letting them get away from the crazier aspects of the world using corporate campuses as charter cities, but I’ll freely admit my personal desire is to create somewhere that’s not on a chunk of dirt at all.
I’m more than happy to help in any way possible, you guys rock.
