well it was just a thought but ive not done any resurch on it yet though i did have the experiance of building a “tree house ” from the stuff it was actually on legs of bamboo It still stands to this day ten years on as of yet none has needed replacing but how this would fare in salt water i dont know will have to do some distructive testing thought this takes a long time the chinese seem to have no problems with it for building junks though so it must work just have to find the right species will get on it right away.
well after a bit of quick resurch i found a strain that is salt water tolerent its called bambusa malingensis and is used by the southern cinese as a building material its very very strong and non invasive (grows in clumps does not spread to much) sounds ideal

I can’t see it in the picture. Thanks for the bamboo info. It doesn’t grow directly in the salt water but can take flooding and salt spray.
