Hey. So, the US is looking to nationalize healthcare, and as I understand it most other places around the world already have. Now, it used to be that everyone dissatisfied with their own national health care got the private sort from the US. It occured to me to ask the possibility of using seasteads as floating private hospitals. People have suggested using ‘steads for gambling, pot, etc., and the usual feedback is that these aren’t enough to run an economy. Healthcare, on the other hand, privately owned and operated apart from the mainland would provide decent, respectable jobs to prospective inhabitants, bring customers, and yield a whole bunch of good press. Of course, it would require a lot of infrastructure, too. Hence me asking you guys your thoughts on the matter, complications, etc. Thanks.

    Hope this helps.

This link shows the relative costs associated with healthcare in various countries. Rather than as a vehicle for job creation for disaffected health care professionals in the US, medical tourism provides alternative care for disaffected health care consumers. High costs and scarcity of coverage are helping to launch medical tourism into a very attractive business in which TSI will likely be an active participant as it gets set to purchase a used cruise vessel to convert into a medstead.

Market failure is a statist myth.

Good to see it’s allready being done. I see what you mean about consumers leaving the US rather than proffessionals, as our costs tend to be higher and people in general tend to follow the money, sadly not freedom. Again, thanks!
