    Thoughts on petitioning the current administration to openning up these islands to colonization, utilizing the latest in solar and wind energy technologies, and finding other ways to be self sufficient in hostile environments?

    Get the federal government involved and they’ll set the rules. That’ll throw your open government experiment in a cocked hat.

    Oh, I agree, but if you can get someone else to foot the bill for experimenting on how to create such settlements, once you’ve worked out all the kinks, you can pack up and leave. Just thinking out loud.

    There are a lot of islands owned by many governments out there. Some may be willing to even sponsor an endeavor to colonize some of them. This may be something some may want to look at in their incrementalist approach to seasteading.
