I have an aluminum 14ft fishing boat which i saved from wrecking yard. I have an idea for something i want to bolt to the boat in several places. Due to cost of aluminum and ease of working with steel, i want to make the prototype with steel, and the steel’s weight may help me. There is a tall “U” shape riveted onto the hull where a keel would be, i especially wish to bolt steel there. This will be for a unchlorinated pool/pond and a freshwater lake. Should i worry about corrosion for the couple of months i’ll be playing with it this year? Is there some easy mods i can do to my plan to reduce or eliminate the possible corrosion?
