vtoldude is correct, but let me clarify a little:Indeed we should aim to be able to withstand 30-40m waves. But that isnt amplitude in the conventional usage, but crest-trough height. Meaning youd need 20m of clearance both below and above the waterline. I guess you could get away with 15m either way as well, if you are willing to avoid the most stormy oceans: probably a good compromise to make.It depends slightly on the design, but in order to get a stable platform, you need about three meters below the water surface for every meter you are going above it. So 60m total is a decent estimate for the minimum size you are looking at. But if you make the right design choices, about half that distance needs to be only cable.All very physically feasible, but im not going to try to build one with my own hands. A baystead perhaps, but not this.
