It looks to me like it simply needs a longer 'wheel-base' or hull as it were. It should be more... 'ship-like' perhaps. Make it longer with a bit more freeboard to ride over the troughs and put a pram type bow on it so the waves don't pile up and break over it. Yea, thats the ticket!
