The F-Chem piping looks interesting. What exactly are the advantages of Fiberglass pipes over PVC? I'm having trouble finding any info on this that's applicable to our usage, other than that it appears that fiberglass is more resistant to degredation than PVC.

Well, fiberglass can be produced in small fabs by hand. That might be a major advantage right there. PVC is highly toxic in the manufacturing process. The chloride compounds used to stabilize the polyvinyl, dont'cha know. The resins involved in fiberglass manufacture require some handling procedures, but nohting like PVC, not to mention the EPA regs and environmental inspections.

I hadn't considered creating fiberglass tubes, but I had considered using fiberglass as a cover enclosing conglomerations of other structural supports.
