When I refer to diplomacy, I mean convincing nearby countries that the benefits of leaving the seasteaders there outweigh the benefits of destroying or invading them. Also reassuring countries that the seasteaders are not a threat. In the end however the most important question is where to set up, if you are close to “friendly” countries you don’t need to set up defence against them, and countries on the opposite side of the global are also obvisously not a theat. If you do not “appease” medium to large countries, seasteaders will be labeled “terrorists”, and we all know what kind of future that holds. North Korea and Iran are current examples of countries trying to be militarily independent. The keys to successful seasteading are: Low profile and symbiotic relationship with nearby countries.
